Title IX safeguards your rights against sex-based discrimination in educational programs and activities. Here’s what you need to know:

(a) Equitable Treatment: You are entitled to fair treatment, free from sex-based discrimination.
(b) Participation: Engage equitably in all academic, extracurricular, and athletic offerings by The Classical Academies.
(c) Athletic Programs: If athletic programs become available at Northern United – Humboldt Charter School and Northern United – Siskiyou Charter School, you can seek information about opportunities from the athletic director or administrators.
(d) Scholarship Application: You can apply for athletic scholarships.
(e) Equitable Benefits: Receive equitable treatment and benefits in various aspects, including equipment, scheduling, transportation, tutoring, coaching, facilities, medical services, and publicity.
(f) Title IX Coordinator Access: You can consult our Title IX Coordinator regarding gender equity laws.
(g) Filing a Complaint: You can file a confidential discrimination complaint with the United States Office for Civil Rights or California Department of Education. (h) Civil Remedies: You can pursue civil remedies if discriminated against.

How to File a Title IX Complaint

(a) Information Sources: Learn more about filing a complaint at:

(b) Time Frame: Typically, a complaint must be filed with the U.S. Office for Civil Rights within 180 days of the last act of discrimination. If your complaint involves older matters and you are requesting a waiver, you may be asked to show good cause for not filing within the 180-day period.

(c) Investigation Process: The U.S. Office for Civil Rights and The Classical Academies have their own policies and procedures for investigating complaints. Please review the above link for more information about this process.

(d) Filing Methods: You can file your complaint electronically through the U.S. Office for Civil Rights website, or send your own letter or a completed copy of the Office for Civil Rights Discrimination Complaint Form via email, fax, or regular mail to:
